November 2, 201411 yr If you go to Google and type in "education cartoons" my page here will appear at the bottom of Google's results and am asking any knowledgeable WP aficionados how I can better optimize that page for elevating the results in the search engine(s). Keep in mind I also employ the Yoast plugin but asking if anyone can provide "guidance" on what I can do regarding "description" and "title" and keywording. Am I missing something? At least I am on the first page, but feel I can do much better.
November 2, 201411 yr I find the question a little odd: what makes wp different than optimising any other page. If you're looking for a plugin for getting to page one you've missed the boat. If you want better serps ask yourself what makes the rivals better than you.
November 3, 201411 yr Author You've missed my point. It is not a plugin I seek. I seek information on how better to optimize the page in question so that it will elevate itself based on the keyword search term I initially mentioned.
November 4, 201411 yr What you're looking for is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) advice. There's no quick fix for this, everybody want to be top of Google for certain keywords.
November 4, 201411 yr Ok then some options; 1. Check your page speed as this is a ranking factor. 2. Look into a tighter structure (see my answer here) as this is a ranking factor. 3. Try to get a link from an educational resource like a school or teaching resources site which must be of quality and rank for 'education' type keywords site wide. 1 decent link is all it takes. It's also worth noting that Andertoons.com ranks higher for the search term so let balance out some stats (used Moonsy.com). Domain Authority: Andertoons.com 53 vs your site 47 Page Authority (educational Page): Andertoons.com 30 vs your site 40 External Links to Domain: Andertoons.com 64,952 vs your site 11,573 Page Rank: Andertoons.com 5 vs your site 4 Page Speed: Andertoons.com vs Your Site - An Andertoons isn't even responsive. This should give you some ideas. No doubt an offsite SEO bod will have something to say
