a month back i put, what i then considered to be, the finishing touches on my image hosting website. since then i have decided that at the very least i will be adding a feature to resize images which are above the 2MB limit, so in effect, almost any image could be hosted. i also hope to add tiff and swf support.

 

any comments or ideas? all crit appreciated.

You may want to make sure the site actually works before advertising it or asking for feedback. Your upload system rejects .jpg / .png / and for all I know it may reject .gif and .bmp's as well, I gave up after having two of the allowed file types rejected and will never visit that site again because its obviously not reliable. Other than that the design is rather plain, I mean it gets the job done, its only an image host after all, service is much more important than design, but yours doesn't perform on either aspect.

if you truly had problems it was because your mime was not one of the accepted types.

 

i.e. you image is actually an executable etc.

I personally had no problems getting the image to upload. *Shrug*

 

I like the site; it's simple and does (for me) what it's supposed to. I do think the logo is a bit dark and doesn't stand out from the page though. The URL is memorable so try making the logo stand out more so visitors are more likely to see it and remember it.

 

My only service critique is that images not viewed for 30 days are deleted automatically. Maybe you could compromise on this? I know I'd rather use an image host that wouldn't create dead links for me.

Don't hold back sweetie I thought the design was little too 'dark' for me - but that's a personal thing. I didn't try the image upload thingmy wotsit tho!

To be honest, I don't think I'd want any sort of restriction. Comparing to the "big sites" like ImageShack.us, they never delete images and that's one of my favourite features. I use them to host images for blog posts, forums, etc. I consider those to be timeless little archives and would be annoyed if my photos were to disappear one day, thus rendering a lot of my blog/forum posts useless.

 

That could just be me, though.

well 30 days in terms of the internet is a huge amount of time to not get a single hit.

 

however i could probably afford to double it.
