Advice about a slideshow banner

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hoping you can help. I am designing a website for my auntie once she passes her driving instructor test.

I have used a teplate so far, and am currently paddin gout and customising it

The site is www.test.lintonlearners.co.uk

I want the main image ot be a sliding banner, the problem i am facing is that everything ive tried sets the slideshow above the menu

I would really appreciate your views on the leat complicated method to do it?

Hi.

When you say the main image, do you mean image 013.jpg? You have that set as a background image to the header, so it will always show behind the text you have in your header div.

If you want it to be a slideshow you need to place a script below the header to run it.

In the past I have used scripts from here http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/index.html and they were always good.

Your site doesn't appear to have a slide show script of holding image on there at the moment, so I can't tell what was wrong. Your image 013.jpg is a background image not a slide show.

One possible way around this would be to implement a slideshow onto the site and position the Menu over the top of it.

To do this you would need to play with the z-index and positioning http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_pos_z-index.asp

Just remember "Note: z-index only works on positioned elements (position:absolute, position:relative, or position:fixed)"
