June 21, 200818 yr I have just tried uploading my files to a directory for the first time. I initially have my own personal page reg'd with 123 reg and now that site is up and running I understand how to upload etc and have no problems (once i got my head around it) Coincidentally after purchasing my website I won a year of hosting with Ecowebdesign so I decided to use that for the website my friend wanted me to build her. I designed a very basic home page to test I can upload it OK. I tried doing this and I get the error 404 again. I got this previously with my first site but got a friend to help and its fine now. When I first uploaded to 123 reg the directory was blank. The directory with Eco has folders already there, one being a "public-html". This contained a index.html that displayed "welcome to your new website" in the browser untill I replaced it which I have. The directory structure is as follows: Directory/ .bash_logout .bash_profile .bashrc .gtkrc index.html (i have uploaded this to replace their original) logs rockitzine.css (my upload) public_html/ Images/ (images I have uploaded) I have no idea what all the bash files are for, or why there is the public html folder, i uploaded my index into that folder too but it made no difference. I thought it would be easy the second time round obviously not Please help if you can Holly
