April 24, 201412 yr Hi, I'm a graphic design student at university in England, and recently i decided to set up a basic website for myself to show my portfolio to potential clients and friends/family/followers. At the moment I'm using free hosting which worked perfectly for me to begin with, and the site functioned as intended without any problems. After a couple of weeks a lot of the pages started to bring up a popup when trying to navigate away from the page asking if you are sure you want to leave the page/stay on the page. No idea why this has happened and not too sure how I can fix it. I've tried re uploading all the content a couple times, but nothing has changed which is strange as it functioned perfectly to begin with.. Is there any way I could input a script which will bypass this popup or any way to stop it happening? Please help me if you know anything as I would like to be able to use my website to show to clients without the popup affecting the usability of the site, which makes it look much less professional. The website is http://bnbattaglia.webs.com Cheers!
April 24, 201412 yr There's a file which loads this (http://static.websimages.com/static/global/js/webs/usersites/p.js). I'm not sure if its included automatically, if not, removing this file should fix the issue.
April 25, 201412 yr Author hmm, not too sure if this is the case, as i'm using free hosting the site doesn't allow me to upload javascript. is there a way i could impliment a script into my html or css to bypass the issue?
April 25, 201412 yr buy some basic hosting - around 40 quid a year plus domain name (around 11 a year fopr example) e.g. i use http://ukwebsolutionsdirect.co.uk/uk-web-hosting.php or there are many other cost effective options. a free host makes it look like you don't really take it serieously or don't know what you're doing to a potential employer also hsoting that doesnt allow you to upload js isn't going to give you much room for development
