Changing a PHP() form to SMTP?

Featured Replies

Hi

Our reseller hosting company has changed the way it deals with emails, annoyingly.

We now need to convert our existing HTML and php based websites to
support SMTP but to be honest not something we have had to do before. Is
it just possible to add php to the following mailsend.php to achieve
this?

--

<body>

<?php

$email_to = "ashley@live.co.uk";

$name = $_POST["name"];

$email = $_POST["email"];

$subject = 'Submitted Message from '.$name;

$message = $_POST["message"];

$text = "NAME: $name<br>

EMAIL: $email<br>

MESSAGE: $message";

$headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n";

$headers .= "Content-type:text/html; charset=utf-8" . "\r\n";

$headers .= "From: <$email>" . "\r\n";

mail($email_to, $subject, $text, $headers);

?>

</body>

</html>

The form part looks like this:

<form action="mailsend.php" id="contact-form">

<h4>Send Us A Message</h4>

<label for="name">Name</label>

<input type="text" name="name" id="name" class="name required">

<label for="message">Message</label>

<textarea name="message" cols="30" rows="5" id="message" class="message required"></textarea>

<label for="mail">Email</label>

<input type="text" name="email" id="mail" class="email required">

<button type="submit" class="submit">SUBMIT</button>

</form>

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :0)

Regards

Ashley
