I would like my users being able to post on my website and sell items

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am on the process of creating my online business; however, I am a beginner and when it comes to difficult task I am facing a wall.

The problem I am having is that I would like my users being able to post on my website and sell items.

How can I implement this on my website?

What tool am I supposed to use?

Should I just stop playing around and hire someone?

Thank you all for your help

You're looking to implement a marketplace, of some variation. Perhaps with your ability, you'd be better off finding a pre-made solution.

Is your website on a particular CMS? This will also help to answer your question.

Um hire mate if you're on a tight deadline or study SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Security etc.

If you want your business to have 'kerb appeal' online and to become a big success one day you need to invest in a professional web site design and build service. DON'T go cheap, 'We can build one like that for £10' means if you are lucky you will get rubbish that might work.

Start by looking at your business plan, market research, and demographic targets. Then rebuild your cashflow forecast to include the cost of borrowing to pay for a professional job to be done right. If they combine well for a solid 'Return On Investment' (R.O.I) banks will lend at favourable rates, (12-17% apr typically) which means that quality professional web design services are not just affordable, they are a must!

Edit

Forgot to say, make sure you include the initial online marketing, cpc campaigns, seo, and social marketing in your contract. that will start the traffic heading to your site and traffic hitting a well designed site with a good idea will part with cash :)

You could do it with magento, but but you would need to buy a plugin or hire someone to add those functions. I think you could also do it with social engine.
