January 17, 201412 yr Hi All, Came across this place via a competing UK web designer type of forum, like the other it looks like there's lot of interesting people, limited amount of spam and a few more contributors here. I do own/work for a Sheffield based web hosting company (boo hiss), focusing primarily on fully managed complex hosting services... My intention here however is to contribute and to learn, not to advertise! My IT career properly started back in ~1999 as a full time PHP developer and although I've been focusing on hosting and internet infrastructure for the past decade, I still make time to keep my skills honed and keep an eye on everything new fangled. Challenges are my driving force (why else would you _choose_ to work in hosting industry) and I hope there's lots of interesting topics and questions to feed that here. Feel free to ask me anything, though note I know next to nothing about graphical design beyond what I like and what I don't. Some of my favourite technologies and personal specialities: LAMP*, XenServer, pound, haproxy, nginx, bind, qmail, SSL and such. Look forward to getting to know you all better. Ta! Carl
