Hi guys,

I like to inform you that one of my clients sends me a massage

“We have two new sites we need to do on and off page SEO for. I would like you to work on both of them directly so I am giving you the FTP info to FTP them down, update the pages, then FTP them back up.”

But I am sorry to say that I don’t know how to access FTP and how to modify file there. For your kind information, I know html, css, Photoshop.

So, please anybody give me advice about this.

Thank you.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is widely used for uploading and editing files on servers. SFTP, FTPS or SCP is getting more popular and should be used to increase the security.

If you are new to FTP I would suggest you take a look at Filezilla (https://filezilla-project.org/). It's a FTP client and should be pretty straight forward to use. You simply enter your FTP login info and them you get a nice and clean interface, which even beginners should be able to understand.

Filezilla - The Free FTP Solution is the best solution to your problem. Download it and enter your FTP login details and access it.Its very easy to use.

Edit however you usually do, you'll just be using the FTP program to download and upload the files to and from your computer.

Thank you so much for your advice. I am very glad and take it seriously as a result too. I hope you should continue help me and others in future as well.

*w3schools, they are nothing to do with w3c. It's a known thing that w3schools has a lot of inaccurate, outdated or just plain bad information. They've improved it a little after there was a big campaign from w3fools to make the problem apparent, but it's still a weak resource.

Some better resources are:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs

But this is all off-topic anyway :D
