July 19, 201313 yr Hi to all, I'd like to make a new personal portfolio, but I want something awsome! something like http://jiouhe.com/ but i have some question: I find a nice jquery plugin named: scrollpath to make that path effect of navigation, but it's pretty difficult to use and it's based on absolute css classes, this is pretty an obstacle because if you don't have javascript enable the website navigation will be impossible. So do you know another plugin to make the same effect? About the design: it's better to start the layout as a normal single page website and then apply jquery effect to scroll the navigation? or I have to follow another way to design a site like that? Do you think that an intesive use of scrollpath + superscroll could be excessive? maybe to give the illusion of the multidirectional scrolling I could just use superscroll? thanks a lot in advace

July 19, 201313 yr Websites fine for me (Chrome). That's a pretty cool effect. You could avoid jQuery all together and use CSS and HTML anchors, but then you wouldn't be able to get the transition effects and such. About the design, I can't comment as I've never created a one-page-website, sorry.

It's confusing, long-winded, disorganised and doesn't allow the user to pin-point exactly where they want to be looking, which is a huge, profound flaw in web design.

So better a simple site with not so many effect that keep in light my work
July 19, 201313 yr Have a look around at other portfolio websites, you might get inspired, as i think the one you are currently looking at is a bit too difficult to navigate
July 19, 201313 yr Just to throw out a thought, but who are your target audience? As 'cool' as these effects may seem, a lot of your average users get bored with it/can't navigate around the site. At the end of the day, your portfolio should be able to sell itself without the need of bells and whistles, though, understandably you want to stand out. I'd have to agree with the above comments, but it's your call if you want to pursue it. Just think of your audience. Like your username. Nothing to do with the game studio is it?
