Any feedback on my design would be great as I would like to improve over the next few months. so anything little or massive would be great!

+leave me your links for your sites and ill c4c :)

EDIT:

Okay, been working on it and this is the latest:

pretty nice! except ... the font is hard to read as a heading font, but there's no way you should use it as a font for the main copy (have a look on http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ or googlefonts )

the balls are too small in the logo - if anything they could be bigger than a normal 'o'

Thanks for responses!

And yeah, i didnt even notice that you cant read the font, thanks for the point-out. and as for the logo, its not a "logo" its just a font which the o's came out kinda cool on... so i kept it. If it was a site for a real-world client i would go the extra mile to change that around a bit... but for this practice I probably wont.

What did you mean by "Is there anyway to make the background pic full screen?" not too sure what you mean by this.

HERE is my latest design, Im fairly happy with it... I need to change the font still, but still looking into that... but what do you guys think? bare in mind im hoping to get good enough to sell sites within the next few months... so i want to get good quality sites with high standards.

Hi! Beautiful site! I love the pictures you've used, it feels modern with a touch of lounge lizard, perfect for snooker! And you did a great job with the colour scheme, pulling the green and orange from the photos.

I agree with the others about the font. Even as a heading font it's a bit hard to read -- maybe play with letter-spacing to space the letters out just a touch, see how that looks? And use something different for non-heading text.

I would put About Us and Contact Us beside each other (in the top nav bar), if not morphing them into one thing. Generally-speaking, I always think it's good for these two things to go hand-in-hand on any website.

The social icons for RSS and Twitter are a little rough at the corners -- they look pixelated, not smooth.

Since you are currently in high-practice mode, getting ready to start selling your designs, I would invest in a way to host your practice sites. Our ability to review and help you is limited when all we have is a picture. For instance we can't check out link behaviours or other interactive elements, we can't see how all the pages work together, we can't review it for accessibility, we can't help you clean up your code, we can't test it on different browsers/sizes/resolutions etc.

Anyway, great job and best of luck to you!! You are certainly on the right track. I hope this helped somewhat :)

Thanks for the lengthy critic! very beneficial and i like that you have picked on the small things like the Icon..

taken it all on board and agree with all of it so its very helpful!

As for the host and stuff. I defiantly need to do that soon but not just yet (as i dont get paid for 3 weeks). until i get paid i just want to work on designs in photoshop so i can practice my design skills as appose to my development skills. Design is defiantly my weak poitn when it comes to web development.

Thanks again!

Sounds like a good plan! :)
