Does anyone have any tutorials that are very informative for beginners but straight forward, I find myself getting lost on creating designs on Photoshop as they are so large and detailed. Looking for simple tutorials first. I already have learnt a great amount of XHTML and CSS so coding them shouldn't be an issue.

photoshopcafe.com is a good place to explore useful photoshop resources & tutorials, especially for beginners.

Maybe look for some books about it? I always find this traditional way of learning more effective for me. They are also more detailed in most cases

Search on htmldrive.net for interesting and easy tutorials.

W3C is best resource for learning, here you will found lot of tutorials on html, css and php. Tutorials on w3C will found you easy one but in detail and comprhensive.

I'm afraid to say that CodeSchool and Treehouse blow this resource out of the water. It worries me that there are flash and Dreamweaver courses on there, nobody writes flash now and if you went into a professional development enviroment using Dreamweaver you wouldn't get taken seriously at all.

Why are there no JavaScript courses? This is essential to any web developer, especially those on the front-end - it's the language of the web.

 

I apologise if this is an old design and you haven't had the time to update course listing and make the site look more modern i.e. responsive, but it's kind of considered essential now. especially when the competition is so good. It's a very competitive market these days, it it were me I'd specialise in teaching 1 aspect to the stack and teach it really well, there's simply to much now for a single person to be all things to all men.
