May 15, 201313 yr Hi, I'm going for a new position and have been asked for suggestions on how to improve the following website. I have a few ideas but was wondering if anybody else had any ideas: www.booking.com All suggestions welcome and appreciated. Thanks Mike
May 16, 201313 yr Too many things going on. I don't know where to look first or at when scrolling down. I think you need more call to action button on where you want your viewers to click. You have a different arrow for More Destinations and More Hotels. And maybe a better sign in/registration box would be better than a one liner text. The footer could use a better re-layout. But I love the 2 column style and the cleanliness of the site.
May 17, 201313 yr LOL, use this site every week to book my business trips. I'm really satisfied with it. Actually I have never looked at other parts of the site only the yellow search box. It's difficult to come up with something to improve since I'm really used to the site by now. Idea 1: Let me make favorite hotels. I travel to many places and I usually have my favorites in each city. Then in the yellow search box on the main page I want the option to select my favorite hotel from my list instead of typing the location. It could be an additional feature. The Intercontinental Hotel Group has this feature on their booking site and I really use it a lot. Idea 2: I booked a double room for single use. The site did not pass this info to the hotel and I was charged by 2 breakfasts. Annoying little issue you could fix it perhaps. Idea 3: User reviews. Yes, I use them. But I really like the photos in reviews that this site doesn't support. Images posted by the hotel are sometimes 'optimized'. I go to tripadvisor to look at photos from other travelers. If you add the possibility to upload photos you could stop me looking that the concurrence site. Idea 4: Other than the above ones I can't come up with anything. I use it a lot because it's very good in this format. Convenient to use, quick and reliable. So the best advice would be: Do not change anything. It's just good this way. You don't need to change something that is working fine.
May 21, 201313 yr The font in the yellow box is difficult to read -- looks like there's a white shadow effect or something. Always good to point out accessibility concerns!
May 22, 201313 yr I would recommend that there is too much information on the homepage, I would only keep the most important items there such as the yellow search box and make more use of the full screen.
