Hi guys and girls.

I am in the early stages of creating my own website and would like your opinion, I have completed the basic layout now just need to add extra pages and add content.

Please let me know what you think, would really help me out.

Thanks

Hi Luke. It's a nice looking site but a bit of a minor conflict for me. Your site at first glance looks corporate but your writing style is a little casual. That's not a bad thing of course, but your wording "One of them Web Design Companies" doesn't sell you immediately and (put's teacher hat on) the grammar 'them' is a little weird. To me, anyway ;)

The other thing is the layout looks a tad cluttered on the home page. Cluttered is probably the wrong word, I think it's more a use of the whitespace more than anything. Maybe play around with the alignment, add some padding here and there.

I like your use of colour and always a fan of the Bebas font. Obviously you are in the development stage at the moment, but looking forward to seeing your portfolio once it's ready :)

Sorry if this seems somewhat negative, that's not the intention - it's a nice site :D

Thank you for your response, I will take into account what you have said to make my site better, if you have any other input then let me know.

You're welcome :) I look forward to seeing your sites progress.

Hi Luke,

I agree with 4li4s. More whitespace would help. I rather like the corporate casual mix though. The only thing that really bothers me is that your footer and top band don't match or complement each other. I prefer the texture in the top band of the two. The blue in your footer doesn't seem to go with your colour scheme.

I can confirm that the site is not responsive yet unless you plan to do user-agent sniffing but I imagine you haven't got to the media-queries yet.

I know it's work in progress, but at the moment your logo doesn't link to the homepage, instead it links to the current page that is viewed.

Users will expect the logo to link to the homepage :) But I am sure you know that already.

Other than that it is a nice site, you can add a personal touch to it though, to make it different.

I like the site, the design and colour scheming are good. Just one thing though which is not a bad thing but just not one of my preferences and that is where you have the drop down menu with the white drop shaddow it looks a bit out of place and I would possibly make the drop down background the other colour blue you have in your logo. Otherwise good work, look forward to seeing the completed project.
