March 12, 201313 yr Hi All, I have an opportunity to buy a domain with the website thats listed on 1st page of google uk for the keyword london web designer. But i'm not sure how much to offer.Anyone here have any idea how much this is worth? Also if i'm buying it what the process? is there any site that facilitate this type of transaction? Thank Nam
March 12, 201313 yr Personally I'd never buy a domain purely based on SERPs. However if you're in the market you need to see the Analtyics before parting with a penny. Tell us what that SERP rank brings in traffic, along with other related terms, and we'll be better placed to give you a value.
March 12, 201313 yr Author The site has around 250 impressions on average..and click through rate is around 10% according to the seller.. Thnks for your input. Edited March 12, 201313 yr by -WWW-
March 12, 201313 yr 250 impressions a day and 25 clicks? That's not a lot. Also you need direct access to the analytics to see for yourself, or at the very least an export. If his domain is as good as he says and it has intrinsic value, he should want to show you the visitors stats!
March 13, 201313 yr Author Great, thanks for your inputs. I'll try to get more details. Do you know of any web based services that facilitates buying domains from another person?
March 16, 201313 yr Look at the backlinks too, maybe he's selling because he's done some horrible link building and worried about getting hit by google. He might also be renting links to get a high ranking, sell the domain and then stop the links. On the other side, it might be a really solid domain that just needs some focus and can get more traffic from some nice blog posts
March 19, 201313 yr Traffic value is more important than traffic levels. 250 impressions might mean 250 page views by 100 unique visitors. What it all boils down to, though, is how many of those visitors will become your design customers? You might be better off with CPC advertising for a while. Figure out how many clicks it takes to secure clients, on average. Then from there you can determine value per click based on profits of the jobs you do. You might find out that those "250 impressions" could be worth quite a lot.
March 19, 201313 yr In the saturated web design market? If you can survive on 25 clicks a day your website, copy and designs must be astonishingly good, with exact pricing listed on your site for every eventuality...
March 19, 201313 yr that is very low, have a look at google external keyword tool and see how many searches there are for that term. it does't sound like a lot of traffice tbh. Plus he will not tell you what he wants, he will ask what you are willing to pay. Asking on a forum like this is pointless. you have to decide what its worth to you.
March 25, 201313 yr The site is ranking on top results but it might not after you get it, you don't know how much the seller is spending time for seo. I would recommed get a new fress domain name and best of luck :-)
