Font Squirrels kits contain several files for the same fonts (.eot, .woff, .svg and of course .ttf). Are all of these files loaded with the page or does each browser/machine loads only one of them ?

A browser will only download the format it recognises. Some browsers (*cough* Firefox *cough*) optimize even further by only downloading the first format they recognise from the declaration.
