Washed out colors in Illustrator and Photoshop

Featured Replies

Not sure what the issue is here, but having major problems when copying and pasting in Photoshop and Illustrator.

If I copy from one document to another I lose color, it appears all washed out (see below image). However, if I copy to the same document, it is fine. That, to me, says a color setting somewhere, but as far as I can tell both documents are the same??

Ideas anybody?

Seems weird that you'd get a discrepancy between docs, most color settings in Illy are global.

Go to Edit > Color Settings... and make sure they match up.

Go to View > Proof Colors and make sure it's off on both.

Both docs are CMYK, so that shouldn't be doing anything. You could try seeing if the colors are actually shifting between docs or it's just a visual thing. I would assume the values of the colors aren't changing, but who knows. Try saving the untitled doc as the same version of illustrator, the original doc might be saved down to CS3 or something that's causing the problem.

Other than that I'm puzzled!
