Hi,

 

I'm currently working on a site for a building supplies company and what they are after is a customer facing catalogue and a staff facing ordering system. So the customers can go to the site, browse the products and then call or come in in person to buy them. The staff however want to use the same system for placing the orders for the customer. The staff also need an easy to use interface for generating invoices and quotes for the customers.

 

Currently the site is running Joomla 2.5.4 and Virtuemart 2.0.7d.

 

We have come to a point in the project where we are unsure as to whether this is the best product to be using and need to make a decision very soon as to whether to trash it and start afresh with something different or continue on with our current system and try and bend it to make it work how we want.

 

I am open to suggestions that don't involve Joomla but it does need to be an open source CMS of some description as cost is a major factor in this project and I am far from experienced enough to develop something from scratch.

 

Any advice that anyone could possibly give would be greatly appreciated,
