Wordpress user roles/permissions...

Featured Replies

Hi WDFers

I have a site that a client wants built using wordpress - one of the sections of the site is a Profiles area, where staff can log in, edit their own 'page' (or CPT as it will be) which has a host of various custom fields to it.

Now, that is easy enough, but my client doesn't trust the stuff enough to let them just log in and see everyone's profile - so is there an easy way of adding a new user as an editor (for instance) and then locking down EVERY element of wordpress except for their page/post?

The client want to be able to add new users themselves, so it'd have to be some kind of setting when adding a new user as to what page they can edit... right...?

Mainly just because they need to add several videos and images, I suppose I could hook my meta boxes into the profile page right?
