I recently created a 3 frame website. Top frame - header - that's fine. Left frame for menu links - that's fine. The main frame shows a table with a number of hyperlinked images of jewellery which open up into new main frames with bigger images etc. I called the frameset index.html, top frame = top.htm... left.htm and ...main.htm.

 

If i open the index page in a browser and view page source, i can see the scrolling attribute setting which is set to 'no' for the main frame. However, when i open the individual frames or index frameset in dreamweaver i can't see the scrolling attributes.

 

Can anyone tell me how i can acess and edit the scrolling attribute?

Unless you have a good reason to use frames it's not a good idea since they cause many problems, from search engine indexing to accessibility.

I understand that but it doesn't help answer the question does it?. I've designed the website such that it allows access in the least number of clicks and it needs to have a lot of thumbnail images in main window that people can scroll down. Forget it anyway as i've started the design over, still using frames and so far it seems OK.

You can implement a scrolling panel without using frames. Frames are obsolete - they don't even appear in the latest HTML spec.

 

Also, your tone's a little rude.
