June 6, 201214 yr I have to be honest here, it's not great. The colours are not the most professional and don't work together very well either. The kerning and font choice is poor. Try optical kerning on the text and a more professional font. I usually like typographic logos but here you might benefit from a symbol of some kind

What colour(s) would you suggest for this sort? I was thinking maybe a grey and orange instead?

I deffinitly like the second one alot more... What font(s) did you use? Also you mentioned putting a symbol in? Could you please elaborate on that? Thanks so much for your help!
June 6, 201214 yr I used brisa for the main font, you might be able to download it free can't remember Then district thin for the other although another similar thin font should work symbol? Graphic Design is definitely learned over time and unless you haven't had any lessons on typography and composition then it is generally harder to pick up. Some tutorials can be found here: http://tutvid.com/category/tutorials/photoshop/ ^ This page will hopefully get you past any 'technical' difficulties, as most problems I had when starting out was 'how the hell do I do this, and this and this..' and not knowing the correct terms made it difficult for me to find out how to fix and/or how to do things the correct way. I would start out slowly by looking at fonts on: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ (which are fonts handpicked for designers!) and then start making fake prototypes for merchandise you like or bands you like. You can always start out small, by finding a gig poster you like and changing it, an album cover or even redesign a website - all these along with this forum and others will slowly help you develop the awareness and skills needed to better yourself. It's all down to experience and putting the time aside.. But as long as your interested you'll slowly better yourself
