weird internet explorer problem

Featured Replies

hi, i wonder if anyone could shed any light on a weird weird thing that happens to one of my sites in internet explorer 7?

i have a <ul> at the top of the page and if you increase or decrease the text size (by pressing ctrl + or -, not by going into the veiw menu at the top of the browser) everything in the list moves into an ugly looking place that makes no sense at all to me.

even weirder because it's fine at normal size but exactly the same thing happens whether you make it bigger or smaller. have a look, it's really strange - gav's website

has this ever happened to anyone else?

I can't tell you why you are having that problem in Internet Explorer but I can offer you an alternative. I generally use float:left rather than display: inline to get li elements to line up horizontally. I've not had any browser specific issues using that technique. Perhaps you could try that instead?

I would agree with sourcemotion, I've had problems before using 'display:inline', but 'float:left' usually works fine :)
