February 29, 201214 yr Hi guys Please provide feedback on this site please http://www.infinit-e.co.uk/index.html Please be as honest and harsh as you like Thanks Edited February 29, 201214 yr by sunnyp81
March 2, 201214 yr Hi Sunny, Looks a little generic to me, did you build it from scratch? Saying that, there's nothing particularly wrong with it. All I would say at this stage is have a play with the typography, try make it a bit more exciting. And having a slider with random pictures in it does nothing for your users, either remove it or put something useful in there, a call to action or just something to spark interest. Goodluck, ~evu.
March 2, 201214 yr Maybe you could use some css transition for the menu hover state so it looks a bit smoother.
March 2, 201214 yr Author some good feedback there - thank you!! Evu i could not find many images i could use so i found some that looked nice and were stock - i did not know how else to fill the space there. Your website is for a web design company, but you didn't build it yourself and you dont know CSS? What are you going to do when/if you get a client?
March 2, 201214 yr Author I designed it. Im a designer. Granted still learning but its more of a hobby right now. Ive got a few clients at the moment. Thanks
March 2, 201214 yr Am I missing something here? Your website is for a web design company, but you didn't build it yourself and you dont know CSS? What are you going to do when/if you get a client? that sounds BAD CSS is very necessary. Designers must know front end Languages html+CSS .js(optionally) but html and .js are a MUST.
March 2, 201214 yr I designed it. Im a designer. Granted still learning but its more of a hobby right now. Ive got a few clients at the moment. Thanks But who is going to code the sites up? Are you going to pay for someone to code your designs up everytime? My advice? Take some time to learn HTML/CSS, what are you going to say when one of your clients has a problem with the site, calls you up in the middle of the night (it happens) and you can't get hold of your guy who codes it?
March 2, 201214 yr Author thanks guys for the advice, I will take some time to learn CSS - i know alot of html now so... im still a beginner in the field
March 2, 201214 yr thanks guys for the advice, I will take some time to learn CSS - i know alot of html now so... im still a beginner in the field html is not enough html5 is not required, and CSS3 trust me it's not that hard once you figure out the logic behind the whole thing.
March 2, 201214 yr Author thanks very much mr Schuster, at first when i saw html document it scared me something silly, now im sort of used to it.. so yes i will certainly take your advice on board and start the self-teaching
March 2, 201214 yr I designed it. Im a designer. When you say "designer" do you mean graphic designer or web designer? If you mean web designer, then the requirements for web design run from the front end skin or graphics right through to html markup, css styling, and front end scripting such as jquery. As well as typography, visual heirarchy, useability, cross browser compatability, user interfaces, etc.
March 2, 201214 yr Author Im learning a bit of both graphic design and web design.. my other half is a web designer and knows most of the ropes already - i had the idea and wirefram of this site, she helped me project my thoughts onto the screen of Photoshop, but yes the above languages are essential indeed - thanks!
