Estimate My Sites Value

Featured Replies

Hello,

plz estimate my sites value: (design, seo)

thebeautyonline (dot) com

I want to sell them. i know how to calculate site revenue avg. for selling purpose but don't know how to estimate my work value. B) and if anyone is interested in buying them drop me ur offer.

It doesn't always apply but selling for the equivilent of one years revenue or profit has been widely used. If the site has no income then traffic volume might be a yardstick to use. If you have no revenue or traffic then you're talking beer money :)

Working the value out on the revenue makes sense, and apply something for your own time that you feel is appropriate also sounds sensible.... but is it really that easy to come to a value? I mean, at the end of the day its worth what someone is willing to pay for it right?

Yes you're right of course, only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Taking a measurement like revenue does give you a starting point if you have no clue as to its value, if an investor thinks it's worth the price they will buy, otherwise they'll probably negotiate in which case the seller knows the asking price might be a bit too high.

ok so no one can estimate site vlaue ... fine

but can't u estimate my work hourly rate. i want to do work as a freelancer webdesigner.

You can't ask people to put a value on time they don't know you spent

If you said "I've spent 20hrs on this and I get X traffic and Y revenue" then we might be able to help, but if you are just giving domains, then we can't know what you have done behind the scenes.

Any buyer is going to want to know those figures to put a value on a site. As for your rate, then that's separate to the domains. e.g. I could have a domain that I've spent 100hrs designing and on SEO, but if I get 100 visits a month and no revenue it's worth not a lot, regardless of the "value" of my time.

So your rate, and the value of the domain are not interlinked, any domain buyer would purely look for results.
