September 30, 201114 yr Anyone else getting board with sliders? every other website has one these days. As a developer, yes. Every client these days wants one but you can't blame them as they are great way to show off loads og graphical info in a slick modern way.

September 30, 201114 yr Really? I thought u'd like that cause u can just load a template Depends on the clients requirements, not every clients requirements have been done already so sometimes you have to create from scratch. Saying that, if I'm using someone else's pre-coded slider, it doesn't make it any less monotonous.
September 30, 201114 yr personally can't stand the things especially when someone thinks it a good idea to put text in it and doesn't give you long enough to read it.
September 30, 201114 yr I think they're ok, if lighweight and don't slow the whole site down. What's the alternative? I think the thing about "every site's got one" - it kind of depends what it is, you could say "anyone getting bored with text, every web site seems to have it on there" - I guess there's just some things that work time and time again. The other thing is ribbons that every site seems to have, but again, I think they're very attractive if done well. I think the things that become annoying are those things that actually don't work so well, like remember when loads of sites were purely done in Flash, and were slow to load, unresponsive, tiny text etc. And the glossy stuff was definitely a bit of a fad, so that kind of dissappeared. Sliders however usually work pretty well I think so I think they're probably going to have a pretty long shelf life.
