Hello,

 

I can design websites in XHTML and HTML5 with CSS2/3 and I can download jQuery scripts to make my websites look smart!

 

But I do know understand much JavaScript if any! Is learning jQuery a good idea if you dont have much knowledge of JavaScript?

 

Do you need to understand JavaScript fully before bothering to learn jQuery?

Jquery is a just a framework of Javascript so if you want to understand how JQuery really works then yes learn Javascript instead it's far more important.

You may well get held up a bit when trying to mode some nice jquery tool if you dont know javascript.

the lynda.com course on java script is great, im currently going through it
