August 28, 201115 yr Hi guys, We made this site for a national advice company. Trouble is, only 10% of people get in touch which is what the company needs. We now have the job of making the design better. Any suggestions from the commuity? Thanks Adam
August 29, 201115 yr Crystal ball broken, can't see your site, or is it one of those new fangled "stealth" sites?
August 29, 201115 yr 10% sounds like a reasonable return rate to me, saying that a link would be useful
September 1, 201115 yr Author Oooops,.... the link is here. Ideas and suggestions much appreciated :-)
September 2, 201115 yr 10% is a pretty conversion rate. We need more details, such as: How many people land on the website and call the number on the page? How many people us the Request Call feature? What does the company define as a conversion; a telephone call, an email or is it when someone telephones the company, then signs up to a service? How many visitors does the website get?
September 2, 201115 yr There is so much going on in your webpage, I'm amazed you're getting any conversions at all! If you want to increase your conversion rate I'm certain you can, but not without a fairly drastic rethink of your design & copy. First off, you need to take each page individually and ask yourself this: what is the page about, and what user action do I want to elicit? Each page should have a single main theme that's clearly communicated without too much visual distraction (two sidebars, so much distracting colour & movement). To keep visitors on your site, offer two calls to action at the bottom of the page, e.g. get in touch now or find out more about our services. Add extra weight to your preferred action by making it a button, and leave the other cta a plain text link. This makes the decision easier for the user and makes them more likely to go where you want them to. Don't be in a rush to get all your conversions from the home page either - instead try to lead your prospect through all the benefits relevant to them so that when it comes to contacting you, it's the natural next step. I also think your page should fit into a 1024x768 screen without the need for horizontal scrolling. If I wanted to call you I don't want to scroll to see the phone number. Good luck with your site.
