Google Adsense

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have seen it quite a lot that websites have given hover effects to their Google Adsense. Does anyone know how this can be done? I can't find any help on the Google Help topics (maybe I did not look in the right place?) and can't find it anywhere else...

Do I do it through my Adsense panel or do I need to use CSS? If so, what id's or class's do i need to use?

The best example I have is here:

<a href="http://vimeo.com/28006098">Vimeo</a>

scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see 'Sponsored Links'... they are Google Adsense adverts and have a hover effect going from blue to red.

Thanks in advance for your help

regards

Erm, adsense? Where?

  • Author

if you copy and paste the link inside the anchor

<a href="http://vimeo.com/28006098"></a>

bottom left of the page, sponsored links... I've looked through the source code and it's google adsense...

you can see the rollover there, thanks

It's all in the CSS..

a, a:link, a:visited, a:active, .faux_link {
   color: #2786C2;
   cursor: pointer;
   outline-color: -moz-use-text-color;
   outline-style: none;
   outline-width: medium;
   text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover, .faux_hover, .faux_link:hover {
   color: #F75342;
   cursor: pointer;
   text-decoration: none;
}

Vimeo probably did a deal with Google for the custom adsense without the branding, after all Vimeo gets some serious traffic and it's all about the money.

Note: For us digital peasents that use adsense any messing around with the adsense code is stritcly verboten. Adding a rollover effect or removing the branding without written consent could get the account terminated.
