Website Evaluation

I tried to do what it said but I couldn't even sign in with those credentials xD

Try maybe over-emphasising the capitals, or if the asterisk is to be included, etc?

Thank you for your reply the actual website is http://mastersprojectdenfensor.co.uk/Owners/Main.aspx, I think you have taken the evaluation page to be the site, this is not the case and I apologise for any misunderstanding. The evaluation page is there to provide tasks so that you can explore the site and provide further usability feedback in the form of a survey at the bottom of the evaluation page as well as comments in the forum. The links on the evaluation page will take you to the website.

Aha. I see! Personally, I think it's hmmm....

I'm never quite sure how to say this but I experience it a lot with things I design when they're in the beginning phases.

It's got the feel that it's not.... smooth, you know?

It doesn't quite flow. It feels like it's a bunch of elements on a page, not one element being displayed.

Do you get what I'm trying to say? It's not flowing.

I think you should try: 1. Using a different font (this one's a bit too generic) and 2. Try removing the white backgrounds from the images, like your logo.

And also try to get everything to meld into one a bit better.

Also "Company Profile" at the top, by contact us, is being hidden under other stuff. You might want to move it.

And on line 113 you've spelled company as "comapny". Don't even ask how I found that :p (in the alt)

	<li><a href="../CompanyPolicy.aspx" ><img id="ctl00_ctl00_CompanyPolicy" src="../Images/Policy.png" alt="Comapny Policy Image" style="border-width:0px;" /></a></li>

You should also try using CSS to arrange everything on the page instead of table. Tables are quite outdated (and I think they might make your page rank lower in search engines)

well in have to say that's pretty disappointing for a masters' project.

*** Graphic design ***

no favicon

as mentioned remove white logo background

remove the repeating text background and replace it with a solid colour or gradient

icons look dated

colours are too watery/sky blue not solid enough for security

nasty, harsh gradients

SSAIB logo blurred

back of car cut off

no visual hierarchy - everything is just sprayed onto the page

*** typography ***

well. hmmm. far too much centred text - left align it.

the layout of the customers box (front page) is particularly nasty ;)

again, no visual hierarchy and not enough white space

no hover effect on links

it's just soooo messy. i would be disappointed if this was a gcse project and i would start again. :(

i would do it something more like this (bit rough inplaces i'm getting sleep)

I'm sorry, did you say a :yr:MASTERS :yr: project? As in, this is part of a Master's degree?

I must be a doctor of the web then.

Oooh, harsh :D
