After long thoughts about the future of my web design/development and such, I have started to rethink how I do my websites - sort of - I currently design all the sites I do in Photoshop, then cut them up and put them into Dreamweaver along with the text already in the images. As I'm only getting into this serious web stuff, I was wondering if there was a super basic CMS out there that would allow me to set up some div's on a site and have that div display the text posted through the CMS.

 

If that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll see if I can reword it better.

Check out WolfCMS. Its really, really easy to use after you read the documentation - which isn't long drawn out articles explaining every little detail - its short, concise and straight to the point.

That's somewhat amazing! WOW. I just checked it out and it's super simple. Exactly what I was looking for. I'll give it a try! Thanks.

For my first few sites I used cushycms and pagelime - both very simple!

If you want my serious opinion, jump straight into Wordpress. I did with only a very basic knowledge of PHP, like only messing around with variables and arrays and it's a good way to pick PHP up while you're learning it.

I've looked at Wolf before and must say this sounds like what you were after.

I personally use Wordpress but there's no point using it if you wouldn't use half the power.

I use WordPress for my blog, I just needed something quickly and easily to install and setup to blog with.

 

Now I just need something to display some text and maybe some photo's for me on a site. Sounds like Wolf will do this for me, plus it's super easy to use!

I think wordpress is the way forward. I really struggled at first, but after a good week I learned it really well and learned A lot very quick, the people on here and the amount of other tutorials is amazing, the wordpress community is massive!

 

So if you get stuck, there's always an answer. I recommend WordPress as its my first CMS and now after two weeks of using it know better than what I thought I knew Dreamweaver.

 

WordPress isn't dummy proof, it's Lazy proof.
