Hi Everyone

 

I've spent the past month or so redecorating my little igloo and wondered what you think of the new design...

I put it live yesterday and so there are bound to be things still wrong with it that I've missed, so let me know if you come across any bugs.

 

The news ticker on the homepage was a flash/xml thing that scrolled through several mini articles, but for some reason it showed through the 'greybox lightbox' I'm using to display my featured work and so I've just made it static for now until I find a solution that works.

 

Also I've used swfObject to embed all my flash - so this relies on JavaScript being enabled, so thinking of changing this to another valid embed method, so that if Javascript is disabled the flash stuff is still available...not got the time right now to do that, but it's on my checklist.

 

I've also got a couple more sections to add to my portfolio, but not got round to those yet either and didn't think it was worth delaying launching the new look so I've just disabled the links for the time being.

Not bad at all, Evie. I am a great admirer of your work. Btw, I have a client that needs a company/product presentation CD (interactive). Do you do something like this? Any price quotes I could see to show to my client?

What a great way to start the new, your design is fabulous!

 

I find the new look stunning and very easy to navigate. The Liughtbox effect on your portfolio examples add's a slick touch also the images withing the lightbox look nice with the reflective images underneath. What happens if Javascript is disabled, can people still get to your work?

 

The site is full of information and links galore - there's always something to click which just makes me want to delve into what you have to offer. I think this website will be a great hit for you Eskymo!

Thanks for the lovely comments...still got lots of work to do on the site, but it's definitely going in the right direction.

 

PV - if you want to PM me with more details of your project, I can give you realistic costs. Costs depend on how complicated the presentation needs to be and whether it has to be done in flash or is just going to be flat HTML. Most presentaitons I've worked on have taken between 1 and 2 weeks to complete.
