January 9, 200719 yr Hi, It's that time again, Google has put the wheels in motion in updating it's Pagerank for all websites! I hope this forum get's a ranking! Anything is better than 0! - Then again this forum has only been running a few months, it's to be expected. If your to eager to wait and see what your Pagerank(PR) will be, then head over to, http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction it's a hand PR predictor that can try to determine what your New Pagerank will be, don't expect it to be 100% accurate but it's pretty good.
January 10, 200719 yr LOL, Ben! That tool gives me a PR 5. That's stunning. I hope it's right. But I am not so sure. I guess it takes into consideration links that google ignore. We will see...
March 1, 200719 yr On the domain i'm talking about above I went from a 0 to a 5 in one PR update. I was more than pleased to say the least.
March 1, 200719 yr Author I bet you where! - Tell me, did you work on getting back links SEO etc? What sort of website promotion did you do to get that? Cheers
March 1, 200719 yr Well I had an advantage in my corner. Since I was offering open-source website templates they spread like wildfire. I have a credit link in the footer of these templates that, according to my license terms must remain intact, even if the design is changed. So by submitting my templates to a couple of popular websites they got out there extremely fast, resulting in me getting a lot of back links in a short amount of time. My website has been online since July last year (I think) and since then has accumulated over 8,000 solid back links. Its impossible to get an accurate total though as its changing all the time as people download and use my templates for their projects. As well as that I just made sure I had the correct META info in the header, that new post titles where wrapped in H1 tags and created a couple of buzzword articles. So once Google updated their Page Rank system I had enough back links worthy of giving me a PR 5.
March 2, 200719 yr Donny you're working too hard at it. I've done none of what you mention and I've got a PR of 4!
March 2, 200719 yr How am I working too hard at it? The only promotion I do is through two template websites. The credit link in the footer of my designs is simply to show that I made it. There is no other reason, but i'm reaping the rewards just for that. In fact, i'm quite pleased with how my website is growing considering the 'lack of' promotion i've done.
