Quick stop-gap solution for writing showcase

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm actually writing this on behalf of my sister.

She's trying to get into freelance copywriting (she has some experience) and urgently needs to put something up on the web for people to view within the next 48 hours or so. Now that doesn't really give me time to knock her up a site, so I was wondering what a good temporary solution for her might be?

She wants to provide examples of her past writing - she said she has .pdfs and word docs etc.

What she has actually requested was a "page" where she can upload new documents of her writing for people to view. Eventually obviously I'll make her a site, but like I say not enough time.

Am I on the right lines by thinking use blogspot and wordpress, or is that completely wrong and is there something better you lot could recommend? It doesn't have to be fancy, just a "holding space" if you will.

Suggestions?

I don't see anything wrong with using a hosted blog platform for a quick way to get the information up... of course you could be the good brother and spend the next 48 hours at your computer ;)

Haha me and you both now tied down with trying to do the sites for the lovely ladies in our lives :D

Believe me, I'm gonna see whether I have time, trouble is she's caught me at exactly the wrong moment where I'm trying to finish off two clients sites to be ready in the next few days. Which probably involves spending the next 48 hours a tthe computer anyway :( .If I can do it then I will......but failing this, thanks for the advice, man, at least she's got this to fall back on.
