IE9 - HTML 5/Javascript Problems

Featured Replies

I am having problems with a template I have purchased in Internet Explorer. I think it is coming from the new <nav> tags in HTML 5, however IE officially supports that tag...

It doesn't work in IE6 7 or 8 properly, but actually displays better than in IE9. The site is full of javascript for moving parts of the page. I am not sure what part of the code to post, or what to show so if someone could let me know and I will post whatever is necessary.

Many Thanks,

Mike

go back to the people from whom you bought the template? If it doesn't work in a browser then that's their responsibility to fix unless they've made a statement that the template doesn't work in, say, IE.

Try and set display block to the nav tag?

I fixed some of my problems...

Just a guess as theres no live example to look at.

Mike, add the following statement to your <head>

<!--[if lt IE 9]>
<script src="http://html5shim.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script>
<![endif]-->

This should address your problem.

You can also try adding the following to your CSS file

/* render html5 elements as block */
header, footer, section, aside, nav, article, figure {  display:block}
