question about website hosting

Featured Replies

so a website host like godaddy charges about $5 a month for 10gb of space, 300gb transfer on a server.

my question, is there a limit to how many websites you can upload to that 10gb?

or what is the best way to do this, say if i wanted to upload 10 websites and i expect marginal traffic, how much will it cost me to host them?

sorry for another dumb question...

If you look at the details of the godaddy account which are here: https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shar...mp;ci=5652#tabs (scroll down)

You'll see that the $5 plan only allows one website, whereas the other two allow unlimited multiple websites. Note that you only get 11 FTP accounts though, so if every website needed their own you'd only be able to host 11 sites.

If you want to go into multiple hosting, the way I did it was to purchase a reseller account. This is a lump of space on which you are allowed to set up your own totally separate hosting accounts. This way each website can have it's own cpanel, its own separate space, ftp, databases, email addresses etc. Everything is private and separated. In this case, you also are affectively a host in your own right and can charge for both the hosting service and the technical support.

I use a Lonex.com reseller and run my sites in this way.

I totally agree with Eris, getting a reseller account is the easiest option if you want to run multiple websites.

I recommend Surpass Hosting, as their reseller options are pretty cheap, and their service is amazing.
