so a website host like godaddy charges about $5 a month for 10gb of space, 300gb transfer on a server. my question, is there a limit to how many websites you can upload to that 10gb? or what is the best way to do this, say if i wanted to upload 10 websites and i expect marginal traffic, how much will it cost me to host them? sorry for another dumb question...

how much traffic can an average server handle? take this forum for example, how do you know its traffic limit? will a server approaching its traffic limit end up crashing or will it just be sluggish?

say you have a normal website hosted by some company like godaddy or dreamhost. what do you do if your site starts getting massive traffic and the server can't handle it? is there some hosting companies that can accomodate larger traffic? say like 30 million page views a day for example.

I know facebook has an API but I'm not sure what it does. Can somebody explain what it is in layman terms?

if you knew enough about web design, could a single person build a site like that? or do you need group of people and employees architects etc, to build a site like that? sorry for all my dumb topics but just don't know where to ask this kind of stuff... eventually I want to make my own dating site similar to facebook. .

was wondering if anybody here has used any of the dvd's at lynda.com they have whole bunch of different tutorial dvd's and they seem kind of pricey...

what exaclty is asp.net? I know that it is from microsoft but don't really know what it is or what its used for. Is it another way to make websites?
