hi everyone

 

I just starting out learning web design just over a year ago, ive put it on hold laterly and am thinking about getting back onto it again,

 

my first question to everyone would be is it possible do you think to learn web design at home on my own?

 

i'll give you a brief run down soon about me but for now i'll just say ive got little to no experience!

except for a couple of months on w3 schools leaning the very basics (html etc..) and talking to a friend using msn messenger who runs a web design company (well he's the director)

I think learning yourself is way more fun personally as you can create things around what you would like.

 

Make up mini projects for yourself and try, try and try again untill you get the effects you want.

 

Thats how i started learning .

 

I even used to take apart other peoples websites and make my own using there source code. This helped in the problem solving

Hello, George, lots of people are self taught. Something I think it is better that way. ayoungh has made a good point, if you take a part some else site, you can learn a lot.

Its definately possible i did very little web stuff at college (involving PHP mainly learnt ASP.NET/VB) whereas at home i've self taught XHTML/CSS and PHP/MySQL as long as your willing to learn its very possible, so many guides and useful articles on the internet and this forum.

Alot of people are self taught.

Theres thousands of tutorials out there so its easy to teach yourself

go for tuts bassed on photoshop/dreamweaver and ur be oright

Yh welcome to the forum , Just a side note, I never watched any tutorials on basic HTML and CSS, I just learnt as i go along, Its weired for me to watch tutorials like this.
