As a new web site designer I am constantly developing my skills. Something that has cropped up that I need to know is how to link a PowerPoint presentation to a web site.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks for getting back to me. What I want to do is to be able to click a link and the PowerPoint will display in a web page. I have been able to put a link in the web page and when clicked, it opens PowerPoint to display the file.

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you want to link to the file then put the text, then a link to file, by selecting the desired text, then right clicking and go add hyperlink. If you want to link to a site, then you need to do the same, but instead of putting a file put in a hyperlink

either link to the file for people to download/view in powerpoint and/or take all the content out of the powerpoint presentation and re-purpose it for the web (don't export/save as html from powerpoint or it's going to be messy)

i don't know what clients' fascination - almost obsession - is with having powerpoints but if they're that adamant that their creation needs to be in that sort of format then simply link to the presentation for people to view. bear in mind that some people (e.g. those on macs) *may* not have something in which to view powerpoint presentations and i would consider offering an additional html alternative.
