Created a template and named it index.dwt. The spry drop down menu works fine when tested locally.

 

I then created a child page from this template and named it index.html. When I test the page locally the spry menu does not work at all.

 

When tested live it works fine.

 

Why is it that I cannot test this page locally please?

I really need to be able to test it locally often with every change I make to it.

What browser are you testing locally with is it ie, also does the spry menu use javascript

Hmmm - spry is notorious for being pretty rubbish to be honest mate.

 

You should steer clear of DW generated code if possible and just create your own, with JQuery, drop-downs and so so easy...

Both Firefox and IE.

Thing is I need to have a template driven site as the menu will change often. CS4 offers that option - when it works

 

With your suggestion of JQuery - can I create a template with it and any future changes to it will be applicable sitewide?

You sure can mate - you can just use php includes to create your template - if you post a link to your live site, we can help more
