Hello

I've been watching the PHP video tutorials recently on net tuts and the guy has something on his desktop which allows him to browse/scroll through various programmes. I've done an image of it:

basically prog icons along top of desktop screen in scroll bar.

Was just wondering if anyone could tell me what application or whatever it is does this, looks kind of cool.

thanks

Its called a dock. I use Objectdock on mine. Free to use and download. There are probably a few about.

Hope that helps.

cool, thanks guys

gonna get me a dock!

Is there anywhere I can download a Windows start menu rip off for the Mac?

When I was using windows I tried skinning my desktop to look like windows, but apart from rocketdock, everything else just slowed down the computer. You could use objectdesktop. Wouldnt recommend it though

If you're ever going to skin windows, i'd just stick with visual styles, they don't really hamper performance like windowblinds does.

Rainmeter & Rainlender offer some pretty sick widgets with a little customisation.

& Then i can just re-iterate rocketdock, then you can consider your windows experience pretty pimped.

The problem with alot of skins/themes is they only consider aesthetics, the majority of them have pretty poor usability.
