We are assisting a UK Govt. funded charity to develop an internal use website to securely distribute and use sensitive data.

 

Does the Scottish/UK Govt. provide any ready secure infrastructure for this? We were hoping to use an infrastructure already in place for these purposes rather that put our own up since that would involve some serious investments in securing the setup.

 

What are the rules and regulations associated with choosing a hosting provider for these purposes?

I think the only answer you're going to find is from the relevant Government department, whichever that one may be

 

They probably do have secure networks but whether the site would qualify is really down to someone in higher authoruty.
