The little dots that sometimes appear around a link when clicked

This seems to just be in Firefox and IO but i was trying to find a way to get rid of it on my site as it looks a bit messy to me. Anyway i found out what i needed to do and thought i would share it here as you guys have helped me so much over the past few months and if i could give anything back it would be great - you probably already know this but i seem to notice it on a lot of sites so i guess there are people who dont know. anyway drop this into your css:

a
{ outline: none;
overflow: hidden; }

Hope it helps someone!

Remember that Outline is extremely important to disabled people who cannot use a mouse; they use tab browsing instead and outline shows them where the focus is.

If you make outline: none; remember to add a:focus with a suitable color or background-color or underline.

I thought there must be a reason for that. what do you mean

remember to add a:focus with a suitable color or background-color or underline.
how does this display?

You can style a:focus however you wish, one common method is to make the link background colour a nice contrasting colour so it's obvious which link is currently in focus.

Cheers Bluedreamer will give that a go and see if it looks ok. If it looks a bit odd will probably revert to old dotto.
