Something that I have wondered for some time but can't seem to find any information on is SEO for the whole domain.

 

What I mean is that a designer/developer will create a page giving it good SEO, but will this pages SEO have an affect on all the other pages under the domain including the index, or is SEO just for each page only?

 

If it does, how much of an affect does it have?

Firstly, each page on your website can be the entrance page, which means that each page should be fully optimized. If one page will be optimized and other don't, then your website will be ranked by search engines only with one main keyword for this page.

 

You do not need a designer to get good rating by search engines. Here are simple steps you need to make:

 

Page Name - Your Main Keyword is included.

Keywords - First keyword is your main keyword, then enter 4 more - separate with comas,

Description - Your main keyword should be in a first sentence, before the comma.

Page title - Your main keyword should be included.

Page - In a first sentence in first 90 characters include your main keyword and then with each 180 word include your main keyword.

 

That is basics.
