January 22, 201016 yr I'm working on my own site and as you know its hard designing your own site, I am happy with the layout so far and the colours etc. etc. etc. My navigation is proving hard to get right (in my eyes anyway) I only have four main pages that I want to have in the main navigation . I know that on the other pages I'll have a simple left hand column navigation for sub categories but the top one is causing me design pain. Hope you have some suggestions
January 22, 201016 yr Hope you have some suggestions Put the links in the darker blue bit at the top; and then maybe change the background colour of them on rollover (with each link in a different 'box') James.
January 23, 201016 yr I think you could convert these plain links to, say, aqua-style buttons or paper pieces, add volume and so on.
January 23, 201016 yr I personally think that you need to do exactly what it says on the tin - something clean and tidy. Therefore, I'd suggest maybe a paler blue than your background. I think it's difficult to do something interesting with your navigation when you have a strong background colour.
January 24, 201016 yr Author So I have had a go at simply displaying the navigation. Any comments or suggestions? Here is another print screen Link
January 24, 201016 yr I personally do not like your second screen i would take something like this ... the color black will never match to your kind of blue ...
January 24, 201016 yr I think your big problem is your large header graphic "We develop clean..." - it overshadows your nav links. I'd suggest putting nav link in the same line as your logo as your later example, use a some contrasting colours as well to make the links atnd out more.
