Well it will be my first e-commerce system.

Using paypal as the payment aspect.

There is about 20-30 products.

I am quite lucky (i think) in that the requirements for the site are so basic.

Who would you recommend to host it. Also is it easy to install, is there anything I need to be aware of.

its a piece of pi$$ to install. As for hosting. It doesn't really matter as long as you get php and mysql (feel free to drop me a PM and I can help ;) ).

I'm assuming you will be going down the V3 free version of CubeCart? If so, there are a few things you need to know:

1. It does not have SEO friendly URL's, there is however a free mod to do that (PM if you need a copy)

2. It does not support gift cards/ coupons/ discount groups out of the box, there are mods for this,

3. It does have a slightly long-winded checkout process (4 steps but there is a mod that reduces this to 2 and gives you the option of turning off registration altogether - again PM for details)

Thats all I can think of right now. It is a great piece of software once you know how to mod it to suit.

Hope this is of some help.

Feel free to PM or email me.

Thats great. thanks for your help.

These mods you have referred to, are they easy to install?

I will give it a go within the next few weeks and let you know of my experience with it.

most of the mods are fairly straight forward. I have come across a couple that have been a bitch to install.

Does it give you the option of buying without registering. But allowing you to register if you want.

Hi darrenbale

I have just got it installed on my machine at home.

I have to say it was really easy to do.

I installed xamp into my machine and installed cuneCart onto that.

I take it I have to use the skins directory to setup a new theme? If this is so, how have you found the process.

you need to create your theme and then upload that file to the skins folder. Then inside your admin panel under general settings, you will find a dropdown that allows you to change to your newly created skin.

I find it very easy, but I have worked with cubecart for a couple of years.
