New Website for Review

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I've finished coding the website for the debt management company I posted in another forum a few weeks back and I'd love to hear your opinions on the finished article.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Gareth

P.S. I know I have 1 CSS error. It's due to the mobile.css file not being installed on the server. I'm currently working on the mobile CSS.

looks great to me mate, only thing that strikes my eye and makes me think hmmmm, is how the font for the form is different to the rest of the page. Only a very small thing I know but it just seems to grab my attention :S.

Overall its great though!

Really like it... but... just my opinion, it just looks as it should have a large icon or image in the top left of this text;

Taking positive action for a debt free life could be one of the best decisions you ever make.

Recognising there is a financial problem is the first step to taking positive action. Soon you’ll be on the road to a debt free life.

At Sink My Debt we can help you reduce your debt by up to 60% and possibly even freeze all of the interest payments.

We’ll make sure you only pay what you can afford.

Follow our easy 3 step plan and become debt free.

But love the design

It only goes up to £80,000 :)

The image for the big button at the bottom looks a little blurred. This needs to be as crisp as possible if you want people to press it. Otherwise I like!

The design is great - really suits the name and aim of the website. Can't really see no room for improvement to be honest, it's stylish, simple and effective. Great job! :)

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I really appreciate them.

@snowyswebsolutions What would you suggest for the icon mate?

@mrchristoph Thanks mate, I'll make it crisper.

OK Guys.

I've sharpened the Process Claim button and added a couple of colourful tropical fish. What you think?

I like the fish in the background. You have a problem with the button though. ( chrome )

I think what they meant is the outer glow is fuzzy, doesn't stand out as much.

LOL. It's not actually half a fish but a full fish showing through transparent elements and partially hidden by the process claim button. :)

Meta keywords repeated many times , some good keywords you should use are ( money , finance , negative equity , mortgage payments , loan sharks )

debt = 12

debt, debt management, debt help, debt advice, debt solutions, debt consolidation, debt loan, get out of debt, debt services, debt reduction, debt negotiation, debt problems

Design very simple and clean , maybe spend some time and program a AJAX Form Check Script...

Thanks Sinero.

They are keyword phrases I'm targeting. Anyway meta-keywords don't really matter anymore.

Just in the process of doing an AJAX form checker. :)

Now i see it. Thats wierd... when i visited your site before all i could see of the fish was the bits inside the footer.

Anyway... i saw something that you could improve. When your banner finishes at both sides it looks a bit un-natural going into the bg.

Hi,

  1. Logo is too blurred. Drop-shadow effect is unnatural and redundant, it would be better to make something like simply 3D for letters.
  2. Numbers - too blurred too.
  3. Sun rays - too sharpened.
  4. Water surface looks unnatural, too blurred. Look here, for instance, how it could be done.
  5. Bottle - I`d make it bigger.

Hope that hepls.

Nice design, though. I love it.

Hey,

@Smooth You're right to some extent. Things like meta descriptions and title tags are important but meta keywords don't hold much weight at all. It's not a bad idea to put them in there, it won't do any harm but they really don't make a difference at all.

Google works out your keywords and what you're targeting based on your content, they don't even look at the meta keywords tag. This is partly because of how meta keywords can be abused.

I suppose if you keyword stuffed your meta keywords it could possibly hurt your ranking but I doubt even that, as mentioned before Google don't use meta keywords.

I know you said as well that Yahoo and Bing are just as important but they're not I'm afraid. Google has over 85% global search engine market share while Yahoo has only 6% and Bing even lower at 3%. That said if you rank well in Google, chances are that you will rank well in the other search engines.

@Lev Thanks for your critique, I appreciate it. I've taken it all on board and I'll be working on a few of the issues today. Thanks again for your comments.
