Having trouble understanding what i'm doing wrong...

 

I'm tyring to update a website using ftp software. I've transfered all the files to the bt space (host company).

home.btconnect.com/xxxxxxxx-web1/

The site works here. Now i'm not familiar with how this works, but i'm guessing that this should then automatically update the domain name www.xxxxxxxx.com (registered with BT), which it is not doing. The old site is still visible? I've cleared the cache etc.

 

Sorry if this makes no sense, not exactly sure whats going on myself!?

I know this is probably stating the obvious but have you contacted the host support centre? They appear to have both phone and ticket support for you.

It says there you need to upload the site to the /public directory once you gain access to the server.

thanks for the advice but all seems well here regarding folder etc. I've spoke to someone who thinks it could be related to the DNS settings?

What name servers are listed on the domain name?
