cms development

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Having pondered moving on to cms for a while i've decided upon Concrete5. I have it installed and ready to go but was after some advice on the best way to develop a site.

I'm going to develop locally but i also want the client to see what i'm doing. What i did before was create a folder on my server space and put the site here. But with cms i wasn't sure whether this would work with having to move it to its own server when finished and how much changing i would need to do. I don't want to develop in in the live environment so everyone can see.

How do you do yours?

Cheers

Tony

Ok,

my client already has a site so do i build it in a folder on my server space and then transfer it across when its done.

can it be done this way?

or can i have it on their server and password protected like you say without effecting the operation of the current site?

cheers

Tony

Yes you could develop in a sub directory on their server and password protect the directory. This wouldn't affect the current site :)
