December 6, 200916 yr Hey I saw this Sony website and was amazed at the quality of it. How exactly would someone make this? http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10551
December 7, 200916 yr Author By using flash. How long would it take you lot to build that website? I'm thinking of restyling mine in the same way...
December 7, 200916 yr Flash isnt something all web designers use. It's sort of, an addition. I don't use / know any flash so couldnt comment on a time frame, but I'd imagine just as long as designing a website, coding it css and html, and then adding jquery.
December 10, 200916 yr As you can see, the page is not made entirely of flash. It's rather a luxurious addition [to those that have downloaded flash player]. Flash is much harder and takes much longer to produce. Flash is also very difficult to edit after it's done. It's actually kind of like a movie (which is what I tell all my clients), you can create very nice effects, but the filesize might get big, or the visitor's browser support it, and it's very hard to edit. I would recommend using the old fashioned HTML/CSS for your website. Cheers!
December 10, 200916 yr As you can see, the page is not made entirely of flash. It's rather a luxurious addition [to those that have downloaded flash player]. To be fair, flash is pretty widespread now, considering that youtube uses it for its videos and facebook uses it for its games. But I agree, its a steep learning curve if you dont know what you're doing.
