November 24, 200916 yr Hi all, I converted to the Mac a few months ago and have yet to feel comfortable with the browser testing. I test safari and firefox and then upload files to a server then open up Vmware Fusion and use IEtest for IE6,7,8. I've found that IEtest doesn't display as it would if i were using the actual browser so i'm not completely confident with that. I find myself going on a laptop to view IE which is a real pain. Theres got to be an easier way, any Mac users kindly give their method of doing this. Or is this the price we pay for being superior Mac users Cheers Tony
November 25, 200916 yr I've found the only reliable way to test with PC versions of IE is on a PC. That said if you install something like Multiple IE you could argue that does not give you a true representation anyway. Personally I use Parallels on the Mac to test as I work, then give it a final check with a PC. But I'm betting there are other, more efficient ways to do it out there.
November 25, 200916 yr I use a Macbook with Bootcamp. On XP I use IE Tester for all the IE browsers. Since I hate being in XP I use a Mac Mini for any development work that needs doing. Prior to the additional Mac I just used the Macbook for development and an old windows laptop I had, again with IETester.
November 25, 200916 yr I completely agree, with Pippin62. I've had loads of issues displaying IE versions even rendering in different monitors and screens. IE seems to have the most diverse rendering techniques, almost as if its random. Most things render fine all the time no problems, but there are always these smaller issues IE always sends to crop up.
